Winner of National RTI Award 2009

Rajesh Bissa has been awarded the 2nd prize in the Citizen category and will be given a cash prize of Rs 1lakh. For using RTI Act, to reveal large-scale irregularities and corruption in selection of a private partner for Rs 2500 crore road project and award of other large contracts by Chhattisgarh government.
The winners are decided by a jury consisting of Justice J. S. Verma (Former cheif justice of supreme court and chairperson of national human rights commission), N. R. Narayana Murthy (CHEIF MENTOR Infosys), Fali S. Nariman (Indian constitution expert and senior advocate), J. M. Lyngdoh (The Former chief election commissioner of india), Prannoy Roy (chairman NDTV), Aamir Khan (filmstar), Pullela Gopichand (Ace badminton player and national coach), Sanjay Gupta (Editor and CEO dainik jagran group), Madhu Trehan (Author and media personality), Mallika Sarabhai (dancer and social activist) and Santosh (activist).

Major Achievement in Fight against corruption

a wonder of Right to Information Act

The state government invited tender for 1500 KMs of road under a scheme called Annuity but entered the agreement of 2500 KMs।The payment of this additional 1000 KMs would have amounted above Rs.4000 crores in 15 years. The matter was raised with the proof of corruption. The government thus compelled to reduce it to 1500 KMs. Illegal expected Payment of Rs.4000 crores saved
